My teachers and fellow students,
In a couple of weeks, we’ll say goodbye to our mother school. How time flies! Now It’s really hard for me to put my feelings into words. The past three years has been really a wonderful journey with you guys, full of laughter and tears.
To make the journey safe and fruitful, our great teachers contributed their time, energy, love and the whole heart. Here, we are extremely grateful for all that you, dear teachers, have done for us.
It’ll soon be the time for us to depart, though unwillingly. But it is not the end. It just means that we’re going to begin a new journey.
Finally, on behalf of all the graduates present here, let me extend our sincere wishes for our mother school and respectable teachers. Thank you!
Nowadays, colleges and universities enroll an increasing number of students year after year. After four years of study, they have to meet more and more rivals in the labor market, usually many of them going home with no work at all, disappointed.
With more graduates and less job vacancies, students are encouraged to start business of their own when they graduate from university. They may start take up anything they are interested in, make decision on their own, and obtain the fruit of their own labor. In this way, graduates will become more independent, imaginative and creative.
Yet this process should be supported by our government. The government should provide special policies for these students, and when necessary, guide them onto a correct road.
Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this question when he starts his career. A large number of college graduates prefer to stay in the big cities.
To them, big cities mean more experiences, more opportunities to see the big world and more space for career development.
At the same time, higher salary is another temptation.
But some other graduates want to start in small towns.
Even though there may not be many big companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is that they can be a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the management’s attention and may win promotion earlier.
As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a metropolis like Shanghai. A good begin is half the battle, and in Shanghai I can find a job in a big company where I can meet people from different places and cultures. I will learn from them what I can not get from textbooks.
Before I knew it, I had graduated from junior high school.
This is the end of the first trimester, which means that we have to say goodbye to my three years of school and the students who have spent three years together. And we are greeted by an unknown world.
In the past, always listening to the parents say that cherishing the good youth, the time waits for the words, the mind always not to think,. Now, I am deeply aware of the meaning of time. But high-waged jobs are not so easily accessed. I also dont want to be a teacher because I am not very good at working with kids and dont have enough patience. So the best choice for me seems to be a translator. Although being a translator is somewhat boring and tends to earn less, I think it the suitable for me. I am quite used to sitting at a table for long time. Also, I am into reading foreign articles. Above all, I can make the most of my knowledge of Chinese, which I think can match that of my English.
